Screen Printing

  • The disc is fed by spindle into the infeed unit

  • The disc is then loaded into the machine one disc at a time

  • The disc is then checked for I.D. code to insure the order is the correct title

  • Ink is then applied to the disc using UV curable ink and a squeegee through a polyester mesh screen

  • An ultraviolet light cures the ink after each color is printed (up to 6 colors)

  • The disc is then inspected for proper print using a digital color camera ( label inspection system)

  • All good spindles are then placed on the output spindle and a failed disc is sent to a reject spindle for further inspection Equipment Utilized Hanky Five Color Process CD Screen Printer

  • 6 Color screen printing (1-5 colors plus a flood coat)

  • Cycle time of 3,600 finished pieces per hour

  • Capacity of 85,000 discs screen printed
